I was here in 2011. Most all of the place has been destroyed, although for some reason they seem to have left part of the shop and part of the facade standing, as well as an enormous smokestack. There are a couple piles of about a hundred tires each dumped throughout the place. That and there are some junked boats rotting on the back lot...

I was on the 4th floor
new bugs every night, the bug guy would spray every month
it didnt stop them; bed bug bites all the time
centipedes, and of course ROACHES
if you leave ONE CRUMB out, youll see a family of roaches fighting over it very soon
disgusting avoid this place if you want peace

To me, Detroit is a fascinating place: a little rough around the edges and definitely not my favorite place. I read "Reimagining Detroit", recently, and although it's far from restoring the city to its former glory, it does make it a little more warmer, more interesting, and a good read.
